Comparatives with Nouns — Town & Banking Careers

How it works

To compare nouns, use more, fewer, or less. Use more and fewer with countable nouns (more job opportunities, fewer tellers), and more and less with uncountable nouns (more money, less traffic noise).

For superlatives — the number one of all — use the most and the fewest with countable nouns, and the most and the least with uncountable nouns.

Examples: Our town has more banks than it did before.  ·  This branch has fewer employees than the main office.  ·  This neighborhood has the least crime in the city.
