Dinner at a Mexican Restaurant

Characters:

Setting: A vibrant, colorful Mexican restaurant.

(The scene opens with Liam and Maria seated at a table. A basket of tortilla chips and a bowl of salsa are on the table. Liam is looking at the menu, which has a lot of Spanish words.)

LIAM: Wow, this menu is huge! What's the difference between a **burrito**, a **taco**, and an **enchilada**? They all sound like they have similar ingredients.

MARIA: That’s a good question. A taco is a small, soft or crispy tortilla folded around fillings. A burrito is a large flour tortilla wrapped around a bigger mix of fillings, and an enchilada is a corn tortilla rolled around a filling and covered in a chili sauce and cheese before being baked.

LIAM: Okay, I think I get it. So, a burrito is like a big wrap?

MARIA: Exactly. And they are all delicious! Let’s start with some **guacamole**. It's a dip made from avocados, and it's amazing with the chips.

LIAM: Guacamole sounds good. What about drinks? Is that a margarita I see on the menu?

MARIA: Yes, a **margarita** is a very popular cocktail here. It’s made with tequila, lime juice, and a little bit of salt on the rim of the glass. You should try one!

(A waiter approaches their table with a pad to take their order.)

WAITER: Hola! Are you ready to order, or do you need a little more time?

MARIA: We're ready, thank you! We'll start with an order of guacamole. For me, I’ll have the **carne asada** tacos, please. And a regular margarita.

WAITER: And for you, sir?

(Liam looks at the menu again, then at Maria for reassurance.)

LIAM: I think I'll try the enchiladas. What kind of **filling** can I get?

WAITER: We have chicken, beef, cheese, or vegetables. And you can choose between a red or green sauce. Our green sauce, or **salsa verde**, is a little bit spicy.

LIAM: I'll have the chicken enchiladas with the red sauce. And just a soda, please.

WAITER: Excellent choices! I'll get those started for you.

(The waiter walks away. Liam smiles, feeling much more at ease.)

LIAM: Thank you, Maria! I would have been completely lost without you.

MARIA: No problem! I'm happy to introduce you to my favorite food. You're going to love it.

(The two friends cheers with their water glasses, excited for their food to arrive. FADE OUT.)
